Hillhouse High School in New Haven, Connecticut is holding a prom this Sunday night . . . but it's not for the kids currently enrolled there.
The prom is for the school's Class of 1943 . . . and it's coming 70 years late.
The Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor early in their junior year . . . and by the end of their senior year, World War Two was in full swing. Many of the boys in the class had already enlisted by then . . . and the school cancelled prom.
The idea came up when the class-reunion committee was coming up with ideas for celebrating their 70th reunion.
Even though surviving members of the graduating class are 87 or 88 years old, the school is expecting 70 members of the Class of '43 to come to the prom.
