Hillhouse High School in New Haven, Connecticut is holding a prom this Sunday night . . . but it's not for the kids currently enrolled there.
The prom is for the school's Class of 1943 . . . and it's coming 70 years late.
The Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor early in their junior year . . . and by the end of their senior year, World War Two was in full swing. Many of the boys in the class had already enlisted by then . . . and the school cancelled prom.
The idea came up when the class-reunion committee was coming up with ideas for celebrating their 70th reunion.
Even though surviving members of the graduating class are 87 or 88 years old, the school is expecting 70 members of the Class of '43 to come to the prom.
A few weeks before the start of the school year, the city of Indianapolis closed down a charter school called The Project School because of low test scores.
That didn't leave parents much time to find a new place to send their children this year . . . so they decided to start their OWN school. It's called Project Libertas.
Four parents of Project School students were licensed teachers . . . and they taught kindergarten through eighth grade this year. The parents rented out a youth center to hold classes.
And to save money, parents volunteered as teachers' aides . . . cafeteria workers . . . and janitors. The school just received state accreditation, which means they'll get state funding next year.
I hate to look at a pair of newlyweds and say their marriage is definitely DOOMED . . . but dear GOD, this marriage is definitely doomed.
Last week, 21-year-old Mohammed Ahmed of Lincolnwood, Illinois and his wife were in Orlando on their honeymoon. And while they were there, Mohammed left his new wife in the hotel . . . to secretly go get a PROSTITUTE.
Mohammed responded to an ad by a hooker on Backpage.com. It turned out to be an undercover sting by the Polk County Sheriff's Department. Mohammed was one of 92 people busted in the sting.
His new wife found out he'd been arrested when he never came back to the hotel, and she called the cops to report him MISSING. They told her he wasn't . . . he was actually in one of their cells for soliciting a prostitute.
