I hate to be the one to put these pieces together, but I think SHARKS may be working with Al Qaeda.
--The numbers on SHARK ATTACKS in 2012 are in. They held pretty much steady everywhere in the world . . . EXCEPT THE U.S. Here, the sharks can't get enough of us.
--The U.S. hit a 12-YEAR HIGH in shark attacks last year, with 53 attacks. There were only 80 attacks worldwide. Meaning TWO-THIRDS of the shark attacks in the world last year happened here.
--Florida had the most, with 26. Hawaii had 10, California and South Carolina both had five, North Carolina had two, and Georgia, Massachusetts, New York, Oregon, and Puerto Rico each had one.
--If there's a bright side, only ONE shark attack in the U.S. was fatal. There were six shark attack deaths in other countries.
--So . . . WHY do we have so many shark attacks? Experts say shark attacks are generally tied to the number of people participating in water sports, especially surfing . . . and those are getting more popular in the U.S.
