Back in November of 2011, John Rosenbaum Junior of Jacksonville, Florida was bit by his pet cobra. Getting bit by a cobra is pretty HARDCORE. But apparently it wasn't hardcore enough for John.
--So he went to the hospital and said he was bit by a BLACK MAMBA .
--The black mamba is known as one of the DEADLIEST snakes in the world. So when John reported that bite, it set off a MAJOR SEARCH through southern Georgia and northern Florida to try to track down the snake.
--Overall, more than 500 man hours were spent because of John's black mamba report.
--After no black mamba turned up, John ended up admitting he was just bitten by his pet cobra. And he was arrested on FEDERAL CHARGES of making false statements to authorities. That carries a maximum sentence of five years in prison.
--Now John is on trial in Brunswick, Georgia. His lawyer says he was DELIRIOUS from the effects of the cobra bite, and has no memory of saying anything about a black mamba.
