A Florida man took the concept of being a mama's boy to a whole new level when he called his mother to give him a ride home ... after he unsuccessfully tried to rob a convenience store.
Zachariah Howard walked to a Thumbs-Up store in Niceville, clad in a black hoodie and overcoat, and told the clerk to hand over all the cash in the place or risk being shot – although he never showed a gun. When the worker opened the cash register to show that the cupboard was bare, Howard split the scene and walked to a supermarket, where he used a pay phone to call his mom.
He told arresting officers that he didn't originally plan to rob the store, but decided on the walk that it would be a good idea. (South Florida Sun-Sentinel)
