Texas Latino plans 30th anniversary album

Texas Latino has been entertaining fans since 1993 and the award-winning band will celebrate with a 30th anniversary album filled with classic hits and new music.

Original member and producer Severo “Sevy” Contreras plans to commemorate the band’s anniversary with and album fans will surely want to add to their music collection.

“We’re going to do our 30th anniversary CD that’s coming out hopefully here in two or three weeks,” Contreras tells Tejano Nation. “We’re almost done. The plan is to do 30 songs, about 9 or 10 of the new ones and all the rest of them from throughout the years since 1993 til now. That’s our goal, just trying to keep Tejano alive, just like all of us, right?”

Texas Latino has kept Tejano alive for three decades with different members over the over the years including the addition on current lead vocalist Gabe Rivera, but the San Antonio-based band has produced many successful albums throughout the years, including their most recent album Fe in 2021.

“We’ve just been blessed having the rejuvenation of Texas Latino,” added Contreras. “Having Gabe Rivera and other guys in the band. It’s been a rollercoaster, you know. We released Fe about two years ago and ever since then we’ve been everywhere. It’s blessing, it really is and we just got to stick it in have the faith.”

The 30th anniversary album from Texas Latino is expected to be released within the next month.
