SAN ANTONIO, TX — The Tejano Music Recording Academy announced the Top 5 nominees for the third annual Premios Tejano Mundial on Friday (Feb. 10). Premios Tejano Mundial recognizes achievements in the Tejano music industry each year with live performances by Tejano artists and the presentation of the awards in over 20 categories.
This year’s event will be for two days. The first event is Saturday, March 4, 2023. It will be a night of “Tejano Honors” with Lifetime Achievement Awards presented by Tejano Music Recording Academy. The second event is the Awards ceremony with performances, La Tercera Entrega de Los Premios Tejano Mundial 2023, set for Sunday, March 5, 2023. Both events will be held at the San Antonio Shrine Auditorium located at 901 N Loop 1604, San Antonio, Texas. The Red Carpet will start at 5 pm with the shows beginning at 7 pm on both days. The events will be live-streamed via the Tejano 360+ apps (via Google Play/Apple iOS) and Roku.
Premios Tejano Mundial recognizes those who create and perform Tejano music. Icons, newcomers, and “all in between” are honored. The nominees were submitted based on specified category qualifications. Tejano Music fans completed voting on January 26, 2023, to determine the winners for Entertainer of the Year, New Artist of the Year, Group/Duo of the Year, Collaboration of the Year, Social Artist of the Year, and a new category for 2023, Song of the Year (Homenaje). The remaining categories (Female and Male Vocal Performances, Songwriter, Producer, Engineer, Songs of the Year) are Tejano Music Recording Academy Member-only voting categories while the Video of the Year is selected by a committee.
