HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A member of Houston's popular La Mafia was injured in an overnight assault outside a nightclub.
Oscar De La Rosa was reportedly assaulted around 1:30am leaving a local bar in Houston. According to Armando Lichtenberger, a founding member of La Mafia, De La Rosa had been approached earlier in the evening by a fan who appeared to be intoxicated. Later, as De La Rosa was leaving, the other man was reportedly being ejected from the club, and he began to assault De La Rosa.
De La Rosa was taken to Memorial Herman Hospital. He has suffered severe face lacerations and possible damage to his right eye. Lichtenberger told Eyewitness News De La Rosa has been released from the hospital and is resting at home.
The band says a police report has been filed and they say the suspect has been identified, but no charges have been filed at this time.
